Accommodation
Long stay residents usually like to bring some of their own furniture (soft furnishings must be fire retardant) and all their most important things that make their rooms their own. We will help you with this, including décor and bedding and curtains, and our staff can help you set up TV, phone if you want it, and internet access.
All rooms have an en-suite toilet and washbasin, and our double rooms can be occupied by friends, or those who are married or in a relationship. Over the years have had three weddings between residents at St Andrew’s and many close friendships.
Ask us about your options and we will try to achieve your very own space. Short stay residents will have all necessary furniture and fittings in their rooms for the period of their stay. Most of the beds are electric profiling beds many of which can be adjusted for height from the ground as well. Excellent mattresses and air mattresses are available when needed. There is a hydraulic lift from the ground floor to the first floor as well as stairs.
The dining room is versatile for stand chairs or wheelchairs, and tables all have adjustable heights. Off the dining room is a light, heated conservatory, which is used for all sorts of things including alternative TV watching, activities, peace and quiet, meetings and snacks.
The lounge is similar with a few chairs, but space for wheelchair users. We have a 50” screen TV, a drop down screen and projector for film nights in, and a DVD player. A patio with smokers’ area is outside and there is a patio at the front of the building too.
All laundry is done in house and kept separate for each resident.
